Tech Features
For its affordable price, the Forte has a surprising amount of technology packed into it. Whereas many new cars come with only a seven-inch touch screen, the Forte features an eight-inch touch screen standard on all models. It comes compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so you can access all your phone’s music through the screen.
The speaker system varies greatly by trim level, with lower-level trims getting either a 4 or 6 speaker set up. Higher-level trims get access to an eight-speaker Harmon Kardon premium sound system with a 320-Watt Amplifier and a subwoofer. USB ports are available on all models, and some levels get access to two 12V outlets for powering your devices.
Interior Features
Most models feature a single, manual AC, while only the EX gets access to dual-zone automatic temperature control. This means that the driver and passengers get their own mini climates that adjust automatically to keep the temperature just where they like it. You have your choice of either cloth seating or faux leather seating with white or red stitching.
All models feature a power-adjustable passenger and driver’s seat; the EX features one that’s 10-way adjustable with power lumbar support. The EX also has an exclusive leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated and ventilated seats, so you can stay warm and cozy in the winter, and cool and breezy in the summer.
Safety
The Insurance Institute of Highway Traffic Safety named the Forte a Top Safety Pick: its highest award. It also got great marks from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, no doubt thanks to its wide range of safety features. These include standard forward collision detection, so you’re warned of upcoming objects, as well as automatic emergency braking to stop you if you’re about to hit an object.
Warranty
Kia has one of the best warranties in the business, with a powertrain warranty that covers 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The limited warranty gets you 5 years or 60,000 miles.
