Kia Sorento Basics2023 Kia Sorento | Frederick, MD

This vehicle is a 7-seater SUV with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. It has been a mainstay of the Kia family since 2002.

New Features

There are no major changes from the 2022 lineup to report. Each trim got a little bit better, with a handful of new features being added to each.

The SX trim has received the most upgrades, with rain-sensing windshield wipers and power-folding exterior mirrors among the features that weren’t included last year.

Trims

LX

All trims are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, including the most affordable base LX model.

Plenty of safety features come as standard on all trims too. These include an anti-lock braking system, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and vehicle detection, blind spot avoidance assist, electronic stability control, traction control system, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and more.

S

Upgrade to the S trim, and your 8-inch touchscreen display from the LX model is upgraded to a 10.25-inch monitor with navigation and Kia Connect. You can also take advantage of the navigation-based smart cruise control, heated front seats, and a wireless phone charger.

On top of that, all models from the S trim upwards feature dual-zone automatic climate control. That’s going to be perfect for the erratic Maryland weather.

X-Line S AWD

The X-Line body styling brings the driver 1.3 inches higher, which can make all the difference when driving off-road, as can its all-wheel drive option. The stylish front and rear bumper design is a noticeable addition to the X-Line model too.

EX

Jump to an EX trim, and you’ll enjoy a significant horsepower boost with the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine. With a leap from 191 hp to 281 hp, you’re sure to feel the difference.

X-LINE EX AWD

If you want the EX trim with the X-Line body and an all-wheel drive option, it’s available to you.

SX

If you enjoy cruising through the streets of Frederick on a summer’s day, you’ll appreciate the option to open the panoramic sunroof on the SX model. It also features LED projector headlights for extra safety during those nighttime drives.

The 4.3-inch instrument display on lower models upgrades to a 12.3-inch screen here, too.

SX Prestige AWD

The upgraded interior of the SX Prestige trim will increase the comfort and luxury of your driving experience. You can expect leather-wrapped embossed seating, heated 2nd-row seats, a heated steering wheel, a Bose premium audio system with 12 speakers, a Homelink garage opener, and more.

X-Line SX Prestige AWD

The SX Prestige with X-Line body design and all-wheel drive is the premium trim for 2023. If you want your Sorento with all the bells and whistles, this is the purchase for you.
